Racking & Conveyor

Job Summary

Cover all functions related to the selling and managing the installation of customer warehouse racking and conveyor systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develops new accounts
  • Secures orders from existing customers either through visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone
  • Secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements
  • Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers
  • Communicates directly with new and existing customers to explain features and merits of products and/or services offered
  • Work with CAD vendor for all drawings and blueprints
  • Work with engineering vendor for all necessary seismic studies
  • Demonstrates products or services and provides assistance in the best application of product or services
  • Answers all customer questions concerning the products with appropriate referrals where required
  • Provides customer quotes using in-house company software
  • Closes transactions and takes orders
  • Investigates warranty claims on products and works with vendors to resolve
  • Contacts prospects and explains features and merits of products and services offered, utilizing persuasive sales techniques
  • Must keep current on all racking and conveyor product offerings
  • Write up quote for all systems jobs
  • Order product from the various vendors, obtaining the best pricing
  • Obtain all proper government permits to complete all jobs
  • Schedule installation through a third-party vendor, oversee all work is done to specifications and on time

Forklift Technician

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to communicate with customers both in-house and in the field
  • Ability to determine whether work should be done in-field or in-house
  • Repair gasoline, LPG, electric or diesel-powered forklifts
  • Make repairs as needed including replacing worn or broken parts, adjusting brakes, tightening body bolts, aligning wheels, etc.
  • Lubricate vehicle and perform other duties in connection with maintenance and operation of lift truck as required
  • Can include manual labor such as heavy lifting and operating power equipment
  • Make supervisor aware of problems as they occur
  • Complete paperwork, as needed, to open work order / close work order
  • Keep van clean. Report any vehicle problems to your supervisor.
  • Practice safe work habits
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Qualifications:

  • High school graduate
  • Three to five years material handing technician experience
  • Excellent driving record (as shown on current DMV report)
  • Will be expected to drive (company van/gas provided) to TLA customer sites. Sites vary over the general Los Angeles area
  • Ability to read and follow Thomas Guide directions
  • Own your own tools and tool box
  • Must be able to write and spell English clearly and correctly
  • Customer service attitude and aptitude
  • Good attendance and punctuality a must
  • Must be reliable, report to work on time, follow directions and get along well with coworkers and management personnel
  • Expected to attend technical classes when offered by management
  • Appearance must be neat and professional

Forklift Aftermarket Sales

Job Summary

  • Increase customer base for Preventative Maintenance or Full Maintenance Contracts and service repair work
  • Promote the sales of parts, rentals, and tires to retail customers within an assigned territory
  • Quote and coordinate service maintenance, generating repairs for the shop/field via mechanic recommendations
  • Submit credit applications to Accounting Department and verify with the Accounting Department that customer account has received credit approval before repairs are preformed
  • Coordinate with dispatcher for 1st time service and when customer wants service to begin
  • Advise customer if service is to be performed C.O.D. and arrange for payments at time of service
  • Follow-up when unit gets to TLA Service Department including checking parts availability and progress of repair. Keep customer in-the-loop of when to expect forklift repair
  • Inspect and quote repairs of lease return units
  • Work with TLA customers per the Toyota Delivery Experience Program
  • Sell allied products including but not limited to batteries, chargers, and watering systems
  • Offer customers Driver Safety Training; Teach Class
  • Stay up to date on E-Learning training

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong selling skills
  • Comprehensive Toyota product knowledge helpful
  • Previous experience in an affiliated (auto/forklift) field
  • Previous customer service or sales experience
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license and have a good driving record
  • Must have auto insurance meeting Toyota-Lift’s insurance prerequisites
  • Ability to communicate on a professional level with both customer and technicians
  • Good customer service aptitude and attitude critical to the success of the position
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet ability
  • Ability to work and communicate with various department supervisors to promote Toyota products.

Building Maintenance

Job Summary

This position will work to keep our 100,000 square foot building clean.

Responsibilities and Duties

Clean up fluid spills

Use ride-on scrubber to clean floors

Replace light bulbs

Move forklifts within the building

Repair floor barcodes & area markers

Benefits

Forklift operator's license is required. If you do not have a current license, you will be trained and qualified at company expense.

Salary: $11.00 to $12.00 /hour

Equipment Sales Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft Navasion: Inventory Control
  • Receive sales orders from assigned Territory Sales Managers
  • Assign truck along with attachment, batteries and chargers
  • Microsoft Navision: Generate purchase orders; signed quotations must be in-house before typing sales orders. Must be approved by Sales Manager
  • Obtain credit approval from leasing/accounting before prepping new truck and shipping
  • Microsoft Navision: Invoice TCF (Toyota Commercial Finance) and customer transactions on a daily basis
  • Credit approval on demonstration units needs to be provided before unit can be shipped to customer
  • Provide information to TMHU (Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A.) to obtain De-rating for attachments, installations, etc.
  • Microsoft Navision: Coordinate preparation of truck sales with Service Administration
  • Microsoft Navision: Assign equipment to orders, process, and log
  • Order all equipment sold by Territory Sales Managers
  • Keep New Sales files of all equipment purchased
  • Advise Territory Sales Managers when orders are available
  • As needed, type sales quotes
  • Microsoft Navision: Order and log all attachments, batteries, chargers, etc.
  • Daily interaction with shop foreman on status on units, daily interaction with shipping department, etc.
  • Provide “Installation Reports” on all delivered equipment both sales people, National Accounts, and outside dealers to customer service for follow-up
  • Microsoft Navision: Keep current list of equipment in stock, on order, and customer trucks arrival date
  • Microsoft Navision: Process and follow-up on all orders for CSS for battery, chargers, and miscellaneous battery equipment
  • Demo follow-ups
  • Once delivered to customer, warranty all new equipment
  • Microsoft Navision: Verification of all costs against equipment prior to invoicing
